You decide to start with the younger pony. As you approach, you are able to discern an adolescent Kirin filly — perhaps a few years younger than Moonflower.

Once you are close enough, you notice that she is building a cart with little more than wood and a chisel. She levitates two boards, each with intricate shapes carved at the edges, and joins them together like puzzle pieces.

With the boards solidly locked together, she nods to herself, then turns to her recently arrived audience with a curious smile.

Kirin filly: "Good morning! Do you need something made?"

You greet the filly in kind, and tell her that you are actually looking for some information.

Kirin filly: "Information? I see, I see! What do you want to know?"

After introducing your party of adventurers to her, you mention that you are looking for a foreigner just like you who may have passed through here recently.

Kirin filly: "Ah. He's not in trouble, is he?"

You shake your head, and assure the filly that you are mostly here to check up on him — and to offer him a way back home should he desire to return.

Kirin filly: "I see, I see. Well, there are a few foreigners who live in the trigon. What does he look like?"

You give her the same description you gave the innkeeper earlier: a male winged pony with a greyish brown coat, medium blonde hair and a matching short beard.

Kirin filly: "No horn, right? I think I know who you're talking about."

Moonflower: "Ooh! Ooh! Is he here?"

Kirin filly: "Yes. Well, yes in the general sense. Somepony just like him started working here a few weeks ago, but it was a bit too hot for him here. Last I heard, he went over to the paddy fields. I don't know which one, though. You could try asking someone there."

You ask the filly where the paddy fields are.

Kirin filly: "Along the road to the south. It's not too far, just an hour's walk or two. But if you're like him and you get thirsty along the way, don't be shy; stop by the nearest farm and they'll fetch you some water."

You nod, and look over to the south, where the sun glares through the thick haze over distant mountains. A brief, warm breeze swirls by like a heavy sigh, beckoning you deeper into the sweltering heat.
