Ever the pony to offer a helping hoof to those in need, you decide to pay the demon town a visit after all. You fly low over the flooded fields, then land on the southern edge of the small village.
You approach the centre of the village, where a few demons have gathered next to a large, red-leaved tree. While most of them watch the water eat away at their homes, one turns to greet you warily.
Dubious demon: "Who are you?"
You tell the demon that you are travellers, and explain that you were just passing by when you found the village in dire straits. You then ask if they are in need of assistance.
Dubious demon: "Hmph. That's an understatement; these louts couldn't get anything done if they tried."
Derisive demon: "(scoff) Well, at least we're trying to fix this. That's more than you can say."
Dubious demon: "And why would I bother? You'll just muck it up again."
Denouncing demon: "Spoken as though you bore no blame at all. How typical."
As the group begins to bicker, their voices draw the attention of an older-looking stallion nearby. Annoyed, the elder demon walks over and shoos the others away.
Elder demon: "Enough! I will speak with the newcomers."
The dispute hushes to brief mutterings, then the elder addresses your party.
Elder demon: "Pay them no mind; the past few days have been hard on us all. As you can see, the flood has ravaged our gardens, and our future is uncertain. But nevermind that. What brings you to our humble village?"
You tell the elder that you were following directions to a hermit's house just south of here when you saw the current state of the village, and figured you should stop by to offer some help.
Elder demon: "The hermit, you say? Then you are on the right path. And though your concern for our kind ill befits the Kirin, your offer is appreciated. Tell me, from whence do you hail?"
You respond that you and your friends are from Equestria, a kingdom beyond the Unknown.
Elder demon: "A land free from the Dragon Cult? That must be why equinity yet burns bright in your heart. Hrmm. Curious, then, that you speak the tongue of demons as though you were born with one."
You sheepishly admit that you are actually at the mercy of a sprite's translation magic. At the mention of a sprite, however, the elder's eyes light up with hope, and a few heads turn your way.
Elder demon: "A sprite...! Newcomers, if you bring such magic, then you must truly have come to our aid. Is the sprite here with you?"
It suddenly becomes apparent that Tsu-Ko has not yet revealed herself to the villagers. And judging by her crossed hooves and the scowl on her face, she seems none too pleased with them, either.

Something tells me that they don't have a high opinon on the Kirin and their dragon Emporer. ^^
If Tsu-Ko hasn't shown herself, the fact of the matter is that we can only volunteer ourselves and aren't looking to pressure our party members into following suit. With apologies, we'll bear the responsibility of making the offer of assistance and ask for more details, if the elder is willing to accept that.
